My first ever mock interview :)

It was a Thursday
Ground- Assembly hall
Trainers from Zoom Consultancy zoomed into the campus.
We ITians, aeronautical and mech final years were called and split into 4 groups with IT, aero and mech all together. That was literally the first time we were juxtaposed with the non circuit branch.

It was whole lot of excitement in the beginning. The session started with marketing. We started to mingle with each other and it was perfect team work, felt really comfortable than with the students of my class. Because these people are new to us and knew almost nothing and had no grudges on square 1.

Then was Mock Interview session. I was pin pointed, targeted, aimed at , bull's eye...
Interview started!!

Int: Tell about your self
Me: I'm dharini. A final year B.Tech IT student at Hindusthan college of engineering and technology.
My family is father, who works as Q/C inspector in West africa, my mother, a happy home maker and my elder brother working as Senior Bioinformatician in Malaysia.
Talking about my strengths, I'm a good organiser, my self confidence takes me higher in career. I love team work, good in time management and i'm self motivated.

Int: Impressive... What are your hobbies?
Me: I play violin and blog.

Int: So you are a carnatic or western musician?
Me: Carnatic

Int: Which ragam do you like?
Me: i like Mohanam

Int: Why do you like it?
Me: This raga doesn't have ma and ni swaras and every song composed in this raga is mesmerizing. Thus I like it.

Int: Do you love someone?
Me: Yes, my parents.

Int: You said you are good in time management. how do you manage time?
Me: I list my chores, then fix up priorities. Depending on how much time a task accounts I'll devote that much time for it.

Int: What about being an organizer?
Me: Well, in my college we organize symposiums, national level conferences and workshops every year. I actively played as the chief organizer. Managing as many as 200 students, splitting them into committees, assigning tasks, giving deadlines, eventually extracting quality work on time. And in the end symposiums turned out to be a grand success. That's my achievement as an organizer.

Int: What makes you cry?
Me: loneliness after a heated conversation with a close mate makes me cry.

Int: So you pull up heated conversation?
Me: Not so, at times situations makes me burst out and he/ she doesn't try to understand me. Resulting in heated conversation and a loneliness after it.

Int: Alright, imagine you are working with us. A gentleman in the firm who is close to you wants you to reveal company's secrets. If you don't he'll leave you. What will you do?
Me: I'll will not reveal company's secrets and treasure the trust of the company on me. And a person who wants me to reveal company's secrets is definitely not a trustworthy person. So better I lose him.

Int: Good!!
What is your area of interest?
Me: Object Oriented Programming

Int: What is a virus?
Me: Sorry I don't know :(

Int: What is a constructor?
Me: A constructor initializes objects, ie., variables and functions in the object. Assigning default values to variables... blah blah..

Int: What is the difference between procedure oriented programming and object oriented programming?
Me: In Procedural programming Programmer combines related sequences of statements into one single place called procedure. A procedure call is used to invoke the procedure. After the sequence is processed flow of control proceeds right after the position where the call was made.

But the approach in oops is that classes and objects are used to model real world entity taking help of methods which performs the functions. Emphasis is laid on tasks in prod. approach whereas in oops concept emphasis is on things that does the tasks.

Int: What is your vision and mission?
Me: My vision is to become a programmer, develop professionally. My mission is I'm learning programming languages and developing logically thinking to support programming skills.

Int: Associate you and your name.
Me: My name dha- ri- ni is a combination of 3 swaras of music. Also I'm a musical person.

Int: So being a developer is not so important for you?
Me: See hobby and profession are different sectors of life. Hobby is for relaxation and professional life is major part of life. Thus both are important.

Int: Any queries for us?
Me: What will be my growth in your firm?

Int: You will start the journey as a developer with us then team lead, project lead till the GM of the company.
Me: Great! Thank you.

Int: Done!!

And the feedback for this interview with them was i have to change my answer for "WHAT MAKES YOU CRY?" and widen my area of interest.
Eye contact, gestures and communication was impressive and outstanding (I swear..no exaggeration !!)
