VIVA VOICE-my 1st viva ever..

It was Fundamentals Of Programming practical exam 1st semester B.Tech IT..

my question was "WRITE A C PROGRAM FOR SEQUENTIAL SEARCH USING FUNCTIONS "

I'm a crazy biology student i usually flop in cs at school.it was my 1st ever computer science practicals and my 1st ever viva voce, guess what i did...
i wrote a program for sequential search without functions and executed it too.i felt great and was top of the world to see my program execute and the output was exact.
i called the internal examiner and she too checked my output it was exact and the big fun is that she too didn't notice that my program was without functions.

i was in cloud nine and next task was the viva voce .

i was called..here is the exact conversation..

ext:what is void main?
me:(blinking,flopped)sorry dont know
ext:what are library functions?
me:when C- software is installed in PC there will certain files of it which are fixed cannot be changed are installed. whenever the C-software during execution of a program needs some help with basic functions it uses these files...blah blah...
ext:(shocked)hmmmm...C-software???
me: no sir C-compiler..
ext:(still more puzzled)C-compiler??
me:yes sir..
ext:hmmm...what is C??
me:its a programming language sir...(as if he doesnt know it and i only know it)
ext:what is knowlegde and information?
me:knowledge is what we know and information is wealth(yeah the same dialogue from movie called"BOYS")
ext:(almost broke into laughter)......
ext:hmmmm...some examples of library functions?
me:strcpy,strlen
ext:why are you considering such complicated ones...you can very well account for simple ones such as printf , scanf...
me:(a tiny smile playing on my lips)(therinja solla maattoma)....
ext:what is an OS?
me:operating system.1st line of software installed on any PC.it forms the base for all the other applications to function..blah..blah..
ext:(satisfied)....
still some more questions...and my 1st ever viva is done..

i was the second one to get OUT of the lab..i felt great..
the guilty feeling is still deep in my heart...to have written a program without functions...and i'm not fit for this thing...


but all that is wrong..i'm the one who is made for IT...i scored outstanding grade in Fundamentals Of Programming practicals..
this is the only incidence which gives me confidence and keeps the heat for my profession... i rock!!!!
